Salisbury YMCA Review
This upscale YMCA is Hong Kong's most popular and is a great value for your money. Across the street from the Peninsula and opposite the Cultural Centre, Space Museum, and Museum of Art, it's ideally situated for theater, art, and concert crawls. Most rooms, decorated in a chirpy yellow, have at least partial harbor views of the ferry pier, but it's worth the small upgrade to full harbor view, or even to suites with wider views through bigger windows. Alternatively, you could also crash in one of seven four-bed dorm rooms. The Y premises also consist of a rooftop garden, chapel, hair salon, bookshop, and excellent health and fitness facilities, including a large indoor pool, squash courts, and climbing walls.

Sevius, from Seattle, WA
The Salisbury combines a great location, nice (if dated) rooms, and low prices be one of the best deals in Hong Kong. A quick walk from the Star Ferry Terminal, the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, many of Kowloon's best sights, and innumerable restaurants and shops. The service is friendly, although much of the staff speaks little to no English.
