Roast pigeon is the star at Han Lok Yuen. Everyone in Hong Kong makes a pilgrimage here at one time or another to try it, usually during a boat trip. Don't arrive too late, or you might miss out: the pigeon can be sold out by 8 PM on busy weekend nights, when booking in advance is usually essential. The kitchen also turns out an array of typical Chinese dishes to accompany the pigeon. Beautiful sea views make this institution popular with both locals and visitors alike.

I have been coming to Han Lok Yuen for 15 years. It's way better to do a long, late lunch than dinner. Sitting out on the terrace looking out over the bay transports you somewhere very special..rather like the best restaurant you ever went to in the Greek islands. Local folk lore is that this location has the best feng shui in all of Hong Kong and I wouldn't disagree.
