Fodor's Review:

Set in a semi-basement, but with large open windows at the top so the crowds in Lan Kwai Fong can easily peer down, California is a slice of the West Coast for homesick expats or Western visitors looking for a more familiar environment. It's a mini-institution, having survived the notoriously high turnover rate in the area, and remains one of the busiest bars in Lan Kwai Fong.
