Fodor's Review:

The air fills with warbling and tweeting about a block from this narrow public garden. Around 70 stalls stretch down one side of it, selling all the birds, cages, and accessories a bird owner could need. More gruesome are the heaving bags of creepy-crawlies—old men tending the stalls lift larvae with chopsticks and pop them into the open mouths of baby birds. Birds are a favorite pet in Hong Kong, especially among the elderly, who often take them out for a "walk" in bamboo cages.

Plenty of free birds also swoop in to gorge on spilled food and commiserate with imprisoned brethren. The garden was built to replace the old, mazelike Bird Market, which was closed down during the worst Bird Flu outbreaks. (Government sanitation programs mean the flu is no longer a threat, though all the vendors here ignore signs warning against contact with birds.) From the MTR station walk east along Prince Edward Road for three short blocks, then turn left onto Sai Yee Street, then right onto Flower Market Road, for an aromatic approach. The bird garden is at the end of this flower-market street.

A somewhat interesting sight to see Hongkongers taking their birds for a walk in their cages. Otherwise mainly a group of market stalls selling pet products and birds. Stop in if you are near Prince Edward as it is a short walk from the MTR, otherwise give it a miss.
