Fodor's Review

This place has made a serious case for being the best Cantonese restaurant in Hong Kong, especially after winning and retaining three Michelin stars every year since 2009. Where other contenders tend to get too caught up in prestige dishes and name-brand chefs, Lung King Heen focuses completely on taste. When you try barbecued suckling pig or crispy shrimp dumplings that are this divine, you’ll be forced to reevaluate your entire notion of Chinese cuisine.

Memorable Hong Kong Business Dinner - and Visuals

Recently (mid-October, '13) had the honour of experiencing this sublime restaurant during another rather brief Hong Kong business trip. (Staying once again at my main HK work hotel, the Island Shangri-La; wondrous as ever, as my Fodor's Island SL reviews over the years have duly noted. And, will note my primary and cherished business travel carrier, Singapore Airlines, continued to provide most exemplary service, SIN-HKG, return.) We were a

party of six; two HK-based colleagues in attendance were instrumental in procuring the reservation. Particularly special window table (highly recommended), allowing quiet conversation, along with viewing the theatre of wondrous waitstaff attending to an attractive and refined clientele that evening. [Will confess have always cherished being in the presence of petite, demure, kind-hearted, well-presented women; this particular evening, the largely Asian female contingent (partial waitstaff, diners, colleagues/clients), most pleasing and delightful. Enjoy 'Fodorites'; I was in heaven - and most certainly not an every day, 'Michelin star' business travel restaurant for me.] Such a seamless evening - and truly savoured "Fish Maw Casserole" (really), due to HK colleague's recommendation. Fine company, Champagne, cuisine... savour your Hong Kong dining times.
