$$, Kowloon
Fodor's Review:
Built by the Boy Scouts Association, this hotel next to Kowloon Park offers an excellent value for the money. A portrait of association founder Baron Robert Baden-Powell, hangs in the spacious modern lobby. The hostel-like rooms are small and spartan but have regular hotel amenities and panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and clear views of the busiest part of Kowloon. Ask to see your room before settling in, as some rooms are better than others. A multipurpose hall hosts exhibitions, conventions, and concerts, and the health club is one of the biggest in town. Another attraction for budget travelers is the self-service coin laundry. There are Internet terminals available for use.
