$$-$$$$, Eclectic, Central
Fodor's Review:
As at most restaurants that cater to captive audiences, dining up at the Peak is a crapshoot. This huge eatery in the Peak Galleria mall -- at this writing, the only one with real views -- is no exception: you come for the views, not the food. The best strategy might be to come here in time for sunset, hit Café Deco just for drinks and appetizers, and enjoy the vistas; then head down to the city for dinner. The overambitious menu, which haphazardly traverses five or six continents, is dramatically prepared by chefs in open kitchens (which will, at least, amuse the kids). Oysters are good and the pizza is okay, but you should avoid the insipid Southeast Asian fare and overpriced steaks. When you book (and you must), be sure to request a table with a view, as many tables in the place have none, which defeats the purpose of coming.
