This lovely little three-story restaurant on the banks of the Pearl River serves excellent Middle Eastern food, including falafel, shwarma, and a variety of Middle Eastern salads. The Nile is worth noting for two reasons: the decor, including the uniforms worn by the waitstaff, is straight out of the movie Cleopatra; and the menu has a large number of vegetarian dishes, not always the easiest thing to find in Guangzhou. For our vegetarian friends, we recommend the lentil soup, babaghanoush, and the falafel salad. Nile also serves excellent breakfasts.
