Fodor's Review:

This is a great hotel for visitors on a budget. Its rooms are a little spartan and the lobby cramped, but it is clean and friendly and the location—right in the middle of Shamian Island—is second to none.

The standard rooms are good value at 255 yuan, though you don't get much of a view. Shamian Island itself is a very good place to wind down after visiting frenzied Chinese cities - and if you really do want to get back into city life it's only a few minutes walk.
