This 15-year-old towering hotel in the finance district is somewhat of an institution in Guangzhou, but it has a tired feel, as if the leap from state to private ownership hasn't been made in full. The hotel does have extensive recreation facilities and an indoor gym, as well as a large rooftop pool with an excellent view. For the money though, the nearby City Centre Holiday Inn is a better buy.
