Shangri-La Hotel Hangzhou (Hángzhōuxiānggélǐlāfàndiàn) Review

On the site of an ancient temple, the picturesque Shangri-La is an historic landmark. The hotel's 40 acres of camphor and bamboo trees merge seamlessly into the nearby gardens and walkways surrounding West Lake. Spread through two wings, the large rooms have a formal feel, with high ceilings and heavy damask fabrics. A first-floor garden bar is an elegant spot to relax with a drink, while the regal Shang Palace serves up top-notch Hangzhounese food. Added bonuses include a fully equipped gym, tennis courts, and a nearby golf course. Request a room overlooking the lake.
