Fodor's Review

More than 100 years old, this buzzing cafeteria is one of the most popular in town, so prepare for a crowd, especially on weekends. Lu Xun's most famous fictional character, the small-town scholar Kong Yiji, would sit on a bench here, sipping wine and eating boiled beans. The beans aren't for everyone, but they are worth a try. Also try the fermented bean curd and the pork belly with dried veggies—these local delicacies are especially good with a bowl of Shaoxing rice wine.
