China's oldest existing granary, dating back to the Yongle period (1403–24), is now an entertainment hub of sorts, with couple of art galleries, a teahouse, and a changing line-up of bars and restaurants, including the most established of the bunch, a well-loved branch of the famed Dadong Roast Duck. The structures at Nanxincang—just 10 years younger than those of the Forbidden City—were just one of the more than 300 granaries that existed in this area during imperial

days.
