Dongbianmen Watch Tower (Dôngbiànmén jiaolóu) Review
This is Beijing's last remaining Ming watchtower. Be sure to check out the Red Gate Gallery located inside, which shows works by well-known contemporary Chinese artists. The gallery was set up in 1991 by Brian Wallace, an Australian who studied art history at China's Central Academy of Fine Arts. The second and third floors are devoted to the history of the Chongwen District.
