Tucked away in a hutong, the tiny Haoyuan Hotel has rooms surrounding a pair of pretty courtyards. Try to book one of the larger rooms in the tranquil back courtyard, where you can sit under the date trees and listen to the evening chorus of cicadas on summer evenings. The hotel's small restaurant serves good Sichuan, Guangdong, and Shandong dishes. Nearby Nan Luogu Xiang, with its many restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and boutiques, is reason enough to stay here.
