This enormous Holiday Inn is part of Lido Place, a commercial and residential complex northeast of the city center. With a high concentration of international businesses, including retail stores, a deli, and a Starbucks, Lido Place is home to a number of expats, and the Holiday Inn, too, is a haven for visitors. The hotel has an Italian restaurant called Pinocchio, a steak restaurant called the Texan Bar & Grill, and a British-style pub called the Pig and Thistle. Key cards let you into your hotel room, and you also need them to turn on the room lights. Located in the northeast of the city, this isn't our top choice for sightseers, as it's far from all the major attractions. However, it's a good location if you want to get to and from the airport quickly, or if you have friends or business associates in the northeast suburbs of Beijing.
