My Humble House (Hánshè) Review
From its decor to the dinnerware, there's nothing humble about this fusion restaurant. The dramatic main dining area is designed around a pool covered with rose petals; gingko leaves scatter the hallway. Many find this to be one of the few restaurants that successfully creates fusion dishes, tapping Western ingredients while retaining a distinct Chinese flavor, such as in the pan-fried foie gras with Chinese mushrooms and abalone jam, or the unforgettable wok-fried beef tenderloin with black pepper. For dessert, try the almond tofu, a silken pudding made from ground apricot kernels.
