Beijing's funky young set are falling over themselves to get into this little courtyard bar. Although the service can be sloppy and the drinks are pricey and pretty average, the place is adorable. The central courtyard has been planted with a fairy-tale garden, complete with ponds, stepping stones, gnomes, thick foliage, and a romantic weeping willow. The interior is like stepping into a friend's living room. Each original courtyard house has been converted into a drinking room, packed with sofas, bookshelves, and intimate lamps and mirrors. It is hard to find, though: walk behind the Central Academy of Drama on Nanluogu Xiang, and take your first left down an alleyway that is only wide enough for two people.
