Fodor's Review

Of the thousands of Sichuan restaurants in Beijing, the Yuxiang Renjia chain is often the choice of Sichuan natives living in the capital. Huge earthen vats filled with pickled vegetables, hanging bunches of dried peppers and garlic, and servers in traditional garb evoke the Sichuan countryside. The restaurant does an excellent job with classics like gongbao jiding (diced chicken stir-fried with peanuts and dried peppers) and ganbian sijidou (green beans stir-fried with olive leaves and minced pork). Thirty different Sichuan snacks are served for lunch on weekends, all at very reasonable prices. There are more than a dozen locations around the city.
