Shandong
More than 93 million people call Shandong home, and an annual influx of domestic tourists considerably adds to that number. Most flock to this region for Qingdao, China's most attractive coastal city and best known for its beer (known in the West as Tsingtao) and Bavarian architecture, the well-preserved town of Qufu, home of the philosopher Confucius, and Mount Tai, the most revered of all China's sacred mountains.
