Drum Tower (Gulóu)
Drum Tower (Gulóu) Review
First built in 1382, the Drum Tower gives the central city district of Gulou its name. In ancient times, drums housed inside were used to signal important events, from the changing of the watch to an enemy attack to a fire. Today just one drum remains.
