La Résidence d'Angkor Review

Employing ancient Angkor style, this luxury retreat is packed into a central walled compound on the river. The guest rooms are stunning and spacious—subtle mixes of hardwoods, white walls and bedspreads, colorful pillows, and Khmer art. Sliding glass doors open onto balconies, and sliding wooden doors enclose long bathroom/dressing areas that have large round tubs at one end. The gardens, statues, and open-air bar are equally attractive. The restaurant ($$-$$$$), which serves an inventive mix of Asian and Western dishes, is one of the town's best.

    Beautiful Hotel

    I stayed at the La Residence d’Angkor in March of 2011.

    La Residence d’Angkor was my favorite hotel during my trip to Vietnam and Cambodia that was well arranged by www.globaltravel-cambodia! We debated between Sofitel Angkor, the Hotel de la paix, but felt that we had made the right choice for us with La Residence.

    Our garden view room was spacious and very comfortable, with a lovely bath. The traditional style of the property made it a pleasure to stay in, with manicured gardens and little treasures around every corner. The swimming pool area was a peaceful place to relax after experiencing the grandeur of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples. The breakfast was good and the food quality in the evening restaurant was of a high standard with a wonderful performance of traditional Khmer music & dancing. We found the staff to be exceptional in their duties with a very high level of customer service. I can highly recommend this property.
