La Résidence d'Angkor Review

Employing ancient Angkor style, this luxury retreat is packed into a central walled compound on the river. The guest rooms are stunning and spacious—subtle mixes of hardwoods, white walls and bedspreads, colorful pillows, and Khmer art. Sliding glass doors open onto balconies, and sliding wooden doors enclose long bathroom/dressing areas that have large round tubs at one end. The gardens, statues, and open-air bar are equally attractive. The restaurant ($$-$$$$), which serves an inventive mix of Asian and western dishes, is one of the town's best.
