Victoria Falls Hotel Reviews
Lodge reservations can be made at any time, but flight availability can be a problem, especially traveling from and to South Africa on Friday and Sunday. Lodges tend to have inclusive packages; hotels generally include only breakfast. All hotels and lodges quote in U.S. dollars but accept payment in other currencies at unfriendly exchange rates. Though hotels in Zimbabwe have set rates, they are currently desperate for business, and you can bargain in many instances. It might be best to take an all-inclusive package tour because meals can be exorbitantly expensive. A 10% service charge is either included or added to the bill (as is the value-added tax) in both countries, which frees you to include an extra tip only for exceptional service. Although air-conditioning can be expected in the hotels, lodges tend to have fans. Travel with a sarong (locally available as a chitenge), which you can wet and wrap around you for a cooler siesta.
