Fodor's Review

Pearl diving was the driving force behind Dubai's first economic boom at the start of the 20th century. The dangerous but lucrative business is explored here, along with other sea-related activities, including boatbuilding and ship repair. Call ahead and visit the village when net mending and boat repairs are going on (they aren't well publicized), as there may be little in the permanent displays to hold your attention apart from photographs of old fishermen.
