A boutique hotel surrounded by verdant polo fields brings exclusivity to the Dubai desert at a price point that doesn't require cashing in your Fortune 500 stocks. The style here is minimalist—almost Bauhaus—with wood accents and glass panes that allow light to flood into the public spaces. In the rooms, the ivory- and stone-colored Asian-inspired decor is complemented by colorful contemporary artwork and bold satin cushions. The Desert Palm has "residences" that suit families and groups, but the hotel is better for couples and singles who want to relax between forays into the city.
