Zabeel Rd. 2, off Sheikh Zayed Rd., Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The in-house magazine here, Etalks, epitomizes the hotel's atmosphere of cool sophistication, quality, and money. Emirates Towers is an icon and a favorite of wealthy business travelers who consistently vote it one of the world's best. The triangular building displays acres of structural metal, with transparent walls rising up through soaring cathedral-like proportions, and gray and black marble accenting the natural light. The furnishings have sensuous curves, contrasting with the sharp angles of the structure itself. If you don't stay here, you'll get a sense of the place at the Vu's bar on the 51st floor with fantastic views and stunning design. The dozen or so on-site reputable eateries are a magnet for resident expats. The rooms take a "less is more" approach, which can be disappointing when compared with the public spaces. The style is Scandinavian with touches of art nouveau. One floor is dedicated to women guests, with all female staff, in-room cosmetics fridges, and yoga mat and yoga DVDs.
