Being 5 km (3 mi) from town and five minutes from Arusha Airport makes this a great option for pre- or post-safari layovers. Situated in the middle of Tanzania's largest coffee plantation and designed around the original plantation homestead, the split-level cottages, dotted between coffee bushes, are furnished in Victorian style, with big balconies and your own coffee percolator to try out the local produce. There's a fine-dining restaurant as well as an outside garden
buffet for lunches. If you are just passing by or need a respite between flights there is a lovely bistro with a bar and woodfired pizzas as well as picnic lunches if you have limited time. The service is impeccable and there is a large selection of fine wines from South Africa and Chile. From the lodge you can have a 4x4 Land Rover experience. You'll get a course in 4x4 driving and then, under the supervision of a guide in a seperate vehicle, be able to tour the different elewana properties in Arusha and beyond.
