Fodor's Review

Nobody likes change, and the wine industry—steeped in tradition—was twitchy when Mulderbosch was sold in 2011 to an overseas investor and the extremely talented winemaker Mike Dobrovic moved on. However, Mulderbosch fans can rest easy. The new team has revised the wines and is producing some stunners. Do try the Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc series; these wines capture all that's good about the underrated Chenin varietal. Look for mango, pineapple, and citrus flavors with crisp acidity, perfect for summer drinking. The Chardonnay is winning awards and is about as good as it gets. A huge portion of the farm has been left to indigenous vegetation and wildlife, and they're attempting to restore endangered renosterveld and fynbos. There's a lovely children's play area and a restaurant in the tasting room with great views.
