Pontac Manor Review
Having established a popular small hotel in a striking Cape Victorian former farmstead, the owners added a restaurant that has become a Winelands favorite. The deep veranda is the place for lunch at Café du Pontac, except on very hot days, when the elegant dining room makes a cooler option. Diners are only too happy to tuck into such dishes as rack of lamb served with a potato-and-tarragon galette and thyme-and-honey jus. Finish with country cheeses or try the chocolate-truffle gâteau with whiskey sponge and a gooseberry topping.
