Built in the 19th century, this historic farmstead is set in a lush garden with rolling lawns and abundant roses and azalea bushes. The farm has been transformed into a lifestyle estate—with private houses, a small school, and lovely cottages where you can stay. The rooms are comfortable and decorated in a relaxed country style with floral throws and fresh flowers. The farm produces a range of noteworthy wines, which you can taste; highlights include the Carpe Diem Pinotage
2011, the Carpe Diem Chenin Blanc 2013, and the 2012 Thokozani CCV, a Chenin Blanc/Chardonnay/Viognier blend with notes of lemon, lime, pineapple, and honey. Seasons restaurant (R70–R140) serves, appropriately enough, seasonal meals and is a wonderful venue for a late brunch or leisurely lunch. If you're feeling energetic, try your hand at bass fishing or horseback riding on the estate.
