Fodor's The Complete Guide to African Safaris
Landskroon means "crown of the land" in Afrikaans, and this venerable estate, run by the ninth generation of the de Villiers family, produces a lovely cabernet sauvignon—with hints of vanilla and oak—that's up there with the best. Look out for the premium-range 2007 Paul de Villiers Cabernet Sauvignon and the Landskroon 2007 Shiraz. For a little something to sip after a long, leisurely dinner, try the Murio Muscat Jerepico—a rich, velvety, fortified wine with a fresh finish. It also produces an excellent port made from tinta barocca, tinta roriz, souzao, and touriga nacionale.
