Fodor's Review

A welcome change from dusty artifacts in glass cases, this fascinating museum is actually a collection of original buildings from the area that have been re-erected around a working farmyard. After a narrated slide show, venture into the farmyard and watch the museum staff, intent on keeping traditional skills alive, as they bake bread, twist tobacco, make horseshoes in a smithy, and distill witblits (directly translated it means "white lightning" because of the

astonishing effect it has on you). The museum also has a shop where you can buy produce from the farmyard. They run bread-baking demonstrations, and you can do some coffee and witblits tastings as well. Considering that some witblits has an alcohol content of almost 80%, you might want to do that tasting first and then sober up with the coffee afterward.
