Fodor's Review

Nestled in the little village of Betty's Bay and just a 10-minute stroll from the beach, Waterlilly Lodge is a great option if you don't want to take out a second mortgage on your house. The look is clean, modern, and devoid of the tacky knickknacks that often curse beachside guesthouses. Restful shades of cream, gray, and black decorate the stylish rooms. Your host, Bryan Charlton, has worked in the hospitality industry for years and knows how to make guests feel at home.

Bryan is also a whiz in the kitchen, so you'll start your day with a hearty breakfast; he can put together picnic baskets on request. There's even an honesty bar. Arrangements must be made in advance for children under 14.
