Van Loveren Winery, between Robertson and Bonnievale, produces around 40 wines, so there's something to suit everybody's palate. The Noble Late Harvest 2006 and 2006 chardonnay reserve are both definitely worth mentioning. In addition to sampling the extensive wines, be sure to visit the unusual grounds of this family-owned and -run farm. An established garden of indigenous and exotic plants and trees surrounds a water fountain that supplies the entire farm. Weather permitting, instead of visiting the usual tasting room, sit out under the trees and the various wines are brought to you. It's very relaxed and friendly, and you may feel like part of the family before you know it. If you visit on a Saturday, you might also get to sample the farm's sweet-corn fritters with your wine. Delicious!
