This winery sits at the head of a shallow valley, backed by hillsides covered with vines and fynbos. It's a lovely place for lunch on a sunny day, and you can also take horseback rides through the vineyards. The Victorian Restaurant serves à la carte meals and teas on an oak-shaded terrace overlooking the gardens and mountains; in inclement weather meals are served in the Cape Dutch Restaurant, which also has a Sunday buffet lunch. The Chardonnay Sur Lie 2007 is wonderful,
with a lovely balance and fruity, toasty overtones, as is the flagship wine, the 2006 Syrah. The estate has a number of different wine tastings; the gourmet tasting includes a cellar tour and pairs six dishes with six wines for around R220 per person.
