Rosenhof Review

For luxury and indulgence in the heart of Oudtshoorn, look no further than Rosenhof. Rooms, in garden cottages with patios facing a pretty stone fountain, are spacious and elegantly furnished in shades of cream, with black-and-white tiled bathrooms. Suites have a separate sitting room and private pool. The reception is located in an old farmhouse dating from 1852, with polished tile floors, exposed beams, Persian carpets, and low-lit lamps. The restaurant has a five-course set menu (R270) of well-executed classic dishes, such as ostrich with red wine sauce and steak fillet béarnaise. You'll also find a full room-service menu, a spa, pool, and all other amenities you'd expect of a luxury hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the warm and friendly staff. The breakfast, served under a garden gazebo in summer, has to be the best in Oudtshoorn.
