Intended to be an example in sustainable living, this friendly and informal restaurant serves fabulous lunches—made mostly from organic ingredients—at a great price. The classic is a baked sweet potato smothered with creamy chicken, cheese, olive oil, spinach, salsa, dates, and fresh herbs. There is always a slow-cooked lamb dish, either curry or bredie (stew). The crockery is from a local potter—and you won't find two matching plates. Leila's is on a farm just outside George; the turnoff is signposted on Montagu Street about 1 km (½ mi) on the airport side of Fancourt.
