Tour-bus crowds occasionally descend on this popular spot, located right next to the Dias Museum and Old Post Office Tree but don't let that put you off. This is Mossel Bay's premium seafood house. The oysters, both wild and cultivated, are extremely fresh and served three ways. Try them with the mango, sweet bell pepper, and coriander salsa for a bit of zing. For something besides fish, try the ostrich fillet with caramelized onions and port-soaked apricots. In summer, it's virtually mandatory to sip a cocktail on the deck of the Blue Oyster bar with its great sea view. The restaurant has been incoporated into the Protea Hotel Mossel Bay and also has a private dining room.
