Sun City

Sun City, a multifaceted entertainment and casino complex comprising hotels, championship golf courses, and a water park, is about a 90-minute drive from Johannesburg. Each year in early December the resort hosts the Nedbank Golf Challenge, which regularly draws big names in golf, such as Tiger Woods, Colin Montgomerie, Vijay Singh, and local favorites Ernie Els and Retief Goosen. Adjacent to Sun City is the Pilansberg National Park, a small reserve that's home to the Big Five (elephants, black rhinos, leopards, lions, and buffalo) and has excellent accommodations ranging from upmarket time-shares to camp sites.
