This small, upmarket guesthouse in central Rosebank is a 60-year-old Cape Dutch house with a gracious garden, and offers perhaps the best value in an area known for expensive accommodation. It has an engaging mix of old and new—Oregon pine floorboards, antique inlaid-wood side tables from Morocco, custom-made couches, and modern, whimsical sculptures like one of a woman floating above water by Anton Smit. The bedroom suites are luxurious and have heated floors; one has wheelchair access. The superb food has a strong French influence, though often with a local twist, and the chef adapts his menu daily to whatever fresh ingredients he can purchase.
