Freedom Park

Fodor's Review:

Though it's already possible to do a two-hour tour of Freedom Park, when finished in 2009 the site will be a "one-stop-heritage-shop" for South Africa, dedicated to the struggle for freedom and humanity, as well as other aspects of South African heritage, including human evolution. It will comprise a memorial, interactive museum, archives, and a garden of remembrance. Tours start every day at 8 AM. Bookings are essential, and admission is free until construction is complete.
