Set in the spacious grounds of a grand old home in Wierda Valley, in the business center of Sandton, Linger Longer has an air of gracious elegance. The wooden floors, colored walls, and striped curtains give this restaurant a Wedgewood-like quality. Diners can reserve a table in the newly built conservatory. Though upmarket, this restaurant has a warm atmosphere, and the hospitable staff and personal service of Chef Walter Ulz attract local and international diners. The menu is varied and includes an array of seasonal specials. Start with the prawn firecracker, followed by the Asian split duck or the lamb rack cooked with crushed chermoula, a North African spice mix. The delicious porcini ravioli is the best choice on the vegetarian main menu, and a good finale is the trio of sorbets. There's also a good wine list.
