Sammy Marks Museum

Fodor's Review:

About 23 km (14 mi) outside Pretoria, this furnished Victorian mansion and its outbuildings, surrounded by gardens, were built in 1884 for mining and industrial magnate Sammy Marks. You can relax at the restaurant after visiting the 48 rooms (in a mixture of grand styles) or have a picnic on the grounds. Guided tours take place every 90 minutes on weekdays; there are ghost tours at night.
