Fodor's Review

In a truly spectacular setting smack in the middle of Royal Natal National Park, which contains some of the most stunning mountain scenery in the Drakensberg, this very popular camp makes a great base for long hikes into the mountains. Accommodations are in a variety of bungalows, cottages, and chalets, each with excellent views of the Amphitheatre, a sheer rock wall measuring 5 km (3 mi) across and more than 1,500 feet high. You must bring all your own food, although

you can purchase staples and frozen meat at the main visitor center. In the bungalows and cottages all food is prepared by camp staff, but you can do your own cooking in the chalets. There is one lodge, which accommodates six people.
