Durban and KwaZulu-Natal Sights

The Stables Wine Estate

Updated 12/31/1969

Fodor's Review

KwaZulu-Natal has been declared an official Wine of Origin area by the Wine and Spirits Board of South Africa (the Northern Cape and Western Cape are also official sites), and the Stables was the first estate to bottle a wine in the area. You'll find a wide range of wines on offer including a sparkling wine, a red blend and a port; visitors can choose up to five wines to taste (R20). Wines can be purchased from the farm, as can cheese plates if you feel like lingering and having a snack with your wine.
