Fodor's Review

This massive luxury hotel adjacent to the International Convention Centre is relatively close (short taxi trip) to the city center and beachfront and is favored by businesspeople and conference-goers. The rooms are small but tastefully decorated in light wood with cream-colored bedding and African touches and have either beach or city views. Executive floors have a small club room, where guests can get breakfast and free Internet access. Large public areas come complete

with marble pillars and a pianist tinkling away on a baby grand. The Rainbow Terrace restaurant has an excellent buffet and a take-out à la carte menu. The Hilton also boasts impeccable service, making it one of the top hotels in this chain in Africa. Though expensive by Durban standards, rates can vary significantly based on how full the hotel is, which often relates to which conferences are being held at the convention center.
