Fodor's Review

Initially built as a highly themed hotel—interior elements like elevators kitted out as a shark cage underwater or a Table Mountain cable car mid-journey, and a "climbing wall" still exist—this place will appeal to those who value a vibey social atmosphere and proximity to Cape Town's nightlife. Rooms are very small, but otherwise you are getting four- and even five-star facilities for three-star rates (check out the executive suites for more space). A brilliant 2014

renovation to the public spaces has opened and brightened the space, which transforms from lounge to bar (complete with DJs) as day turns to evening. Thoughtful extras like free local newspapers in the public areas and free popcorn at the bar continue to please.
