Fodor's Review

Luxury living in a converted historic mansion belonging to Randlord J. B. Taylor, a diamond baron. Walls are adorned with an impressive local art collection, and the wine cellar contains 15,000 bottles, including many vintages from every claret first growth from the Bordeaux estates, claimed to be unique in South Africa. There's even a professional wine-tasting facility on-site. The swimming pool is fed by mountain water. St. James is where the English aristocrats holidayed,

and the air of moneyed elegance hasn't dissipated. Emphasis is on space, light, and comfort. All but one room have open-plan bathrooms, although toilets are always fully enclosed.
