Attracting models and folks hoping to spot celebrities along Camps Bay's beach strip, Paranga is a stylish vantage point and an acceptable place to eat. The terrace is shaded by a Bedouin-style tarpaulin. It's mostly popular with locals for a leisurely weekend breakfast, as the place can get very warm by lunchtime. A wide selection of salads will appeal to most palates. Start with the goat's-cheese cake served inside crispy deep-fried kataifi (Greek-style shredded phyllo dough) with a spicy chili jam; then move on to the fillet tornadeo (two circular-cut steak portions) with pepper sauce. Kingklip is served in three ways: prepared whole with lemon-butter sauce, crusted with fresh herbs and haloumi (a firm Greek cheese), or grilled with pineapple salsa. The lounge-style music selection is a focal point, and, as at Ibiza's famed seafront Café del Mar, it's available to purchase. Check menu prices carefully, as some are out of kilter. Reservations are essential for dinner.
