Fodor's Review:

One of the best values in Cape Town is this lovely Victorian house set in a pretty garden. The unpretentious rooms vary in size, are simply decorated in pretty florals, and have private baths. The hotel is very central, and is within safe walking distance of a huge range of restaurants in the vibey young suburb of Observatory, five minutes' drive from the city and convenient to the railway station. A communal area with an honor bar is a convivial meeting place. You need to book quite far in advance to take advantage of this little gem.
